Carnelian (also known as Sard) is an orange-red form of chalcedony that has been adored and adorned by the Egyptians and Middle Eastern cultures since the dawn of civilization. It is one of the prana amplifiers which lends to it association as a stone of sexuality, passion, and confidence. Carnelian is associated with the astrological signs of Taurus, Cancer, and Leo. It has a very earthly vibration and corresponds with the Base (1st), Sacral (2nd) and Solar Plexus (3rd) chakras.
